Charles Wesley Adams, one of Sparta’s oldest carpenters, died at 5 o’clock, p. m. Tuesday, August 13, 1912, after only a few days illness, at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 27 days. When Mr. Adams quit his trade he opened a second hand store on Main street and was thus engaged when sickness and death ended his career on earth. He was well known to a large circle of Randolph county people as well as to Spartans where he lived for many years. His widow [Anna (Baird) Adams] and two daughters and three sons survive. The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. J. W. Webster conducting the services. Internment at Caledonia cemetery.
