The State of Illinois, Randolph County, John C. McKelvy being duly sworn, deposith and saith that John McKelvey late of the town of Coulterville and the County of Randolph and state aforesaid, departed this life at Coulterville and said County, on or about the 10th day of March 18, 1884, and that he died leaving his last will and testament, to the best of his knowledge and belief.

Proof of Will

State of Illinois, Randolph County, In the Court of said County. In Probate, April term, A. D. 1884.

Personally appeared in open Court David Munford and Alex S. Dickey, subscribing witness to the annexed instrument of writing, purporting to be the last will and testament of John McKelvy, late of said County, deceased, who, being duly sworn according to law, do dispose and say, each for himself, that he was present and saw the said John McKelvy signed said Will in their presence, and that he believed that he said testat was of sound mind and memory, called lawful age, and under no constraint when he signed his Will.

Last Will and Testament of John McKelvey Deceased

I John McKelvey of the County Randolph and state of Illinois
being of sound mind and memory, considering the uncertainty of life
do therefore make ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament,
After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged the residue of my estate real personal and mixed ideal, bequesth and dispose of as follows, To-wit:

To the American Bible Society I give and bequeath fifty dollars,
To the board of Domestic Missions of the General Synod policy Reformed Presbyterian Church I give and bequeath Fifty dollars.
To my daughter Jane Woodside I give and bequeath two hundred dollars.
To my daughter Mary Wilson I give and bequeath two hundred dollars.
To my son John C. McKelvey I give and bequeath fifty dollars.
To my daughter Sarah McRill I give and bequeath two hundred dollars.
To my son James W. McKelvey I give and bequeath two hundred dollars.
To my son Charles R. McKelvey I give and bequeath two hundred dollars.
To my daughter Leah Coleman I give and bequeath two hundred dollars.
To my daughter Margaret Dickey I give and bequeath two hundred dollars, to be given

To David Munford in trust for the said Margaret Dickey and her heirs and assigns and I make constitute and appoint John C. McKelvey Sole Executor of this my last will and testament revoking any and all former wills and testaments by me made and authorizing my said executor to grant bargain sell and corvey the real estate on which I now reside, to wit; Lot one in Block eight in A. S. Dickey‘s Second edition to Coulterville and Block two and Block seven in the said A. S. Dickey‘s second addition to the village of Coulterville and to make good and sufficient deed or deeds and deliver the same to the purchaser or purchaser’s of the same in fee simple without any order or intervention of any Court whatsoever, the sale of said real estate to be made at either public or private sale at the discretion of my said executor, and the proceeds of said sale distributed as follows to wit: after all my debts are paid and the above named legales discharged I will that the remainder if any be equally divided among my four youngest daughters, to wit; Sarah McRill, Mary Wilson, Leah Coleman and Margaret Dickey.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th day of July 1881.
