Wilbert H. Rodewald, 68, of Steeleville died at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, March 19 at Memorial Hospital in Chester. He was a retired blacksmith at Captain, Coal Mine in Percy.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 (today) at St. Marks’s Lutheran Church in Steeleville with burial in the St. Mark’s Cemetery. Rev. Paul W. Bramstedt and Vicar Ronald M. Breight will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, today from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Mr. Rodewell was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at Steeleville, where he was a former trustee and former elder at the church. He was a member of BBK American Legion Post 480 at Steeleville, Kaskaskia VFW Post 3553 at Chester and UMWA # 1392 at Percy. Mr. Rodewell was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army.

Wilson Funeral Home at Steeleville was in charge of the arrangements.
