Obituary of Edwin D McKee

Ed McKee, 80, dies Thursday; burial Sunday.

Edwin D. McKee, 80, of Sparta died Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Sparta Community Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the hill funeral Home in Sparta with Rev. Robert W. Stewart officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.

Mr. McKee was born March 28, 1896 in Sparta, a son of the late David and Bertha Stipe McKee. He was married October 4, 1919 at Sparta to Esther Degener, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Maxine Sons of Springfield; one grandson and one brother, Myron McKee of Collinsville. One son, two daughters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. McKee was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Sparta Lions Club and Edwin Alexander American Legion Post 396 of Sparta. He was a veteran of World War I.
