The Last Will And Testatment Of
Joseph Thompson
In The Name of God, Amen.
I, Joseph Thompson of the ___ of Town 4 South Rang 6 west in the county of Randolph and State of Illinois of the age of about Seventy years and being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say:
FIRST, It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be full paid.
SECOND, I give and bqueath to my son Joseph Edward the north west quarter of the south west quarter of Section twenty five.
THIRD, I give and bequeath to my son William James, the north east quarter of the South west quarter of section twenty five
FOURTH, I give and bequeath to my daughter Ada the South west quarter of the South west quarter of section twenty five.
FIFTH, I give and bequeath to Mary Velma, Wilfred Gilmore, and Nellie Opal children of my son George Henry deceased, the north half of the south east quarter of the south west quarter section twenty five, also the, west half of the south half of the South east quarter of the south west quarter, section twenty five, all the above land is in Township four South Range six west of third P. M. in Randolph County and state of Illinois.
I command further that after y decease my son Joseph Edward shall receive one horse or its equivelet, also that my daughter Ada receive one horse or its equivelent, and I further command that all my other personal property shall be sold, all just debts paid, and the remainder if any shall be equally divided amongst my heirs.
I appoint Henry Elmer McGuire as my executer.
LASTLY, I hereby nominate and appoint Henry Elmer McGuire to be the Executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, the thrity first day of October in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninty eight (1898)

The above Instrument, consisting of ___ sheets, was now here subscribed by Joseph Thompson the Testator, in the presence of each of us; and was at the same time declared by him to be his Last Will and Testament, and we, at his request, sign our names hereto in his presence as attesting witnesses.
