Charles McKee died at the family home on South St. Louis street at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, aged 40 years, 6 months and 8 days. The funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by Rev. V. B Scott, and the interment was at Union cemetery. He leaves his widow and three young sons, who have the earnest sympathy of the community in their great bereavement. Deceased was the son of the late Judge Samuel C. McKee, one of the oldest and best known families in the county, and three brothers survive, Dr. H. T. and Edward, of Sparta, and David, a leading farmer near Blair. Edward and Charles were together in the grocery business here. Many friends regret deeply the death of Charlie McKee while yet apparently in the prime and vigor of young manhood.
